Natuber - Transformed potatoes from Álava, entrusts Grupo Xolertic with the automation of the end of line of its plant in Vitoria

Natuber, a company that converts potatoes into a fresh-cut product, based in Vitoria (Álava), has entrusted the automated end-of-line of its production center to the Xolertic group.

The company that had already been developing its technological transformation through innovation and automation of all its processes, thus completes the adaptation of its production center.

Driven by the objective of increasing the production volumes of a product with a limited commercial margin such as potatoes, and without forgetting the well-being and ergonomics of its workers, Natuber has integrated into its facilities a Delta D-344 for casepacking bags, as well as an industrial palletizing cell. In addition to other auxiliary machines necessary for the forming and closing of the boxes, metal and weight controls, encoders and wrapping of the finished pallets.

Together with the rest of the innovations implemented at other points in the process, this solution has allowed Natuber to become a technological benchmark in its sector, and has managed to maximize the profitability of its product.

In addition, it has allowed the company to continue its activity despite COVID-19, thus being able to ensure its production for hospitals, schools and nursing homes and cushion the consequences of hotel closings, one of its most important clients.

Natuber currently produces 10,000 tons of final product per year and employs more than 40 workers. With sales that before the pandemic stood at € 8.8M (€ 7.5M a year earlier). With this project, Grupo Xolertic consolidates its strategy of offering complete end-of-line solutions combining the best technology from its different companies; Sinterpack, specialist in palletizing and integration and Prodec, dedicated to casepackaging solutions.

This Xolertic campaign also automated the end of line at several leading food and pharmacy companies.
